What's your High-Low today?

Aaah, it's only been 2 weeks and I terribly miss my L.A. peeps...

Every time I visit my folks in California, I always look back and think about my “high-low,” reflecting on highlights and lowlights of my trip.  I am thankful for the great moments and I pray and work harder for the not so good ones.  I actually evaluate my “high-low” every night (thanks to my friend Stacy who got me started on this.)  I find it rewarding and therapeutic, and the many blessings are truly humbling. Fortunately, there are no lowlights during my last visit in Los Angeles.

On a personal highlight, my dad’s health is in the upswing and he is in positive spirit.  My mom, who tirelessly cares for him 24/7, is keeping strong, healthy and happily enjoying daily “teleseryes” on TFC and GMA.  They are the beautiful reason why I am always in LaLa Land...

On the fash side, my L.A. stay is really not complete without a fashion scene.  Good thing the first ever Fashion Brunch hosted by Cabral Edwards Management and Bri Seeley was happening at the hottest spot, Beso Hollywood (Rick serves the best red sangria, for realz!).  I was so thrilled to make connections with old, new and fellow journalists, bloggers and brand managers.  And a big THANKS to Caress, Sole Society, LeSport Sac, Kix’ies ThighHighs, Pursenal Butler and other sponsors who spoiled us with fabulous swags!

Finally, real fashion goodies that I can showcase!  The LeSport Sac totes are so versatile and roomy, the striking red Korie clutch by Sole Society is trendy for a night out, and the navy (available in red) Modern Floral statement necklace also by Sole Society is perfect for spring styling.  I can't wait to wear them all. The Pursenal Butler bag wipes are great antibacterial and leather conditioning for my purse collection, and I love the Scarlet and Gold note cards, XOXO says it all! There's so much more and oh so much fun…the event was a knockout!

Speaking of KO’s…it didn’t happen! However, Pacquiao still dominated en route to reclaiming the welterweight belt stolen from him in the first Bradley fight due to one of the most egregious decisions in boxing history.  Definitely a highlight in all Filipino households, I too witnessed the nail-biting Pacquiao-Bradley bout with family and friends. Evidenced by the “Desert Storm’s” relentless taunting in the ring, Bradley clearly did not reflect on Pacman’s killer punch line during their pre-fight face off interview with Max Kellerman just the month before.  Pacquiao quoted Matthew 23:12 – Those who humble themselves will be exalted and those who exalt themselves will be humbled.  Amen, I say!

Finally, a global highlight - Last month at Coachella, H&M Hennes & Mauritz AB announced its next designer collaboration (drum roll please)… Alexander Wang, creative director of Kering SA Balenciaga’s fashion and accessories brand.  Wang is the youngest and first American designer to partner with H&M, who will design clothes and accessories for both men and women.  You wouldn’t want to miss this capsule collection.  It will hit select H&M stores on November 6th so mark your calendars!

A few more weeks and I'll be back in L.A., but for now there's a a few local happenings worth checking out. So like always, get your FASH on, keep styling and make a fashion scene.  Visit and LIKE Chasing Sheila on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

XOXO,
Sheila
